Opening Presentation Feb 11, 2pm to 5pm
Changes of inspiration for Rhonda Nolan is the focus of her show at the Huntsville Art Society Art Space. Her work is visibly filled with vitality and immediacy of her chosen subject - a travel journal of snap shots, movement engaged in passionate rebellious dance, pleasing captured moments. These paintings remind us that we will not be here again. A change happens.
Her invigorating and expressive style has led her to develop her own workshop “journaling with fluid paint” a formula for making art which allows it to be accessible to everyone. Something she truly believes in.
She is an energetic community player. She has been an active board member, for The Junction Forum for Arts & Culture (JFAC) for 5 years; has volunteered for adult and youth art programs in her own community and co-ordinates an art program for the homeless in Toronto’s inner-city.
Rhonda Nolan is an avid collaborator and “action painter” at fundraising and cultural events. Her technique for applying fast, expressive strokes allows her to be truly open to the sensations of her surroundings. As an action painter, she will be working with dancers and musicians for the production of a multi-artistic piece for this year’s Fringe Festival in Toronto.
For over 20 years, Rhonda Nolan has had her studio and raised her family in the Junction, Toronto. Her paintings appear both in print and in galleries throughout Toronto. Her illustrations are used on greeting cards, in children’s books and for corporate accounts.
