I've always had a strong passion for art. Excelling in art through high school I've found many artistic opportunities in my community, participating in local shows and attending workshops at schools such as OCADU and Sheridan College, seeking ways to better myself and my involvement in the industry by taking every opportunity that arises. I’m ecstatic to be moving onto bigger things; hoping to move to Toronto in the New Year to further pursue art through post-secondary education and other art opportunities in a more urban atmosphere. I find inspiration through people and other living creatures, especially those who display curious characteristics and quirks, over-exaggerating these features through illustrations to create the characters found within my pieces. A recent trip to Kenya inspired my “Africa” series, which depicts certain characters I found of interest while on my trip. The Bobbers were inspired by seniors at a residence in Florida, who would spend hours of their day bobbing in a pool. I hope to continue traveling in the future to further seek inspiration and meet more interesting characters to use in my works. I look forward to moving to the city, living in an entirely new atmosphere and being inspired by the people and animals who live there. I dedicate myself to my work and enjoy every minute spent in the studio. I apply myself to every piece I create and work hard to produce something I’m proud of. This is what I love to do, and I hope to continue my work with art far into the future, through post-secondary education and eventually a career. |
